A bit of History:
The former kitchens of the château of Chantilly are famous for the majestic suppers organized by François Vatel, the Prince of Condé's high-caliber master chef. In 1671, supervising the second day of a three day and night festivities in honor of King Louis XIV, Vatel receives a mere portion of the fish he's ordered for that morning. Unable to face the disgrace, he kills himself. A witness to the tragedy, the Marquise Madame of Sévigné has left us many agreat details of the event in a letter to her daughter.
